I couldn’t agree more. Zelensky absolutely put it best.

@mikaels6009 Because it is our territory. Distance shouldn’t matter. After all the Isle of Wight is a British territory so why not the Falklands. So long as you are governed by the same government and underpinning rules that identify as that nation or the beliefs of that same said nation, then distance doesn’t matter. Same goes for every other nation on the planet that has a territory separated by water.

They felt pretty useless then and they feel even more useless now. There should be a quota or something on the actions the UN takes directly affecting the ground rather than just talking and paper signing. Otherwise it itself will have to face action from member states.

@awalabdulnoor Very True. It doesn’t seem like atrocities were being committed by the Argentine forces and we in Britain had it pretty under control despite the losses and in the end was a pretty important and strategic victory in the history of Britain now. I’m sure we can use the lessons learned there both geopolitically and militarily and hope to apply them to the war in Ukraine to help.

I am quite surprised about that huge store of ammunition The Russians claim to have captured near Kharkiv. I mean, Ukraine is being very careful about all that ammunition so I’m surprised that the Russians were ever able to capture this much completely intact without any signs of sabotage in a building that looks to be right out in the open where anyone could see it. Ukraine is very concerned about the amount of supplies and ammunition it is getting, so losing this match is a huge blow both themselves and a benefit to the Russians. If it really does contain ammunition then surely the Ukrainians would’ve taken some sort of effort to try and blow it up but there doesn’t seem to be any sign of damage whatsoever to the surrounding area, door or interior. Either Ukraine is being incredibly lax about ammunition, which I doubt otherwise what happened here was impossibly stupid, or all of these boxes are empty and we’re of no value. Please hang on Ukraine for as long as possible. We on the outside will try and do what we can as well (so long as the UN isn’t useless this time) to see about actually getting the civilians and wounded out of Mariupol. By which I mean to a third party state or Ukraine itself, ‘not Russia’.
