@wildrose1704 Weeell technically the war has been going on since 2014 so depends really which stage of the war you are referring to.

Oooh dear yeah I wasn’t aware of that. They really should’ve clarified that. It does explain how he was able to be integrated into the Marines and have photographs of him undertaking that many levels of training before Mariupol. Clearly he deserves to wear the uniform and did everything like the rest of them to the best of their abilities right to the end. I hope him and the rest of the battalion are able to get make it home after this. Stay strong chaps and don’t let those Orc monsters bash you down. God Save the Queen and slava Ukraine.

It fits him well and clearly he must embody a lot of what they need in the regiment to make it this long until now. He did not fail. None of them did. They did everything they could with what they had right to the end. I hope him and the rest of the Marines are able to make it back safely to wherever they call home after this.

@babblo1389 He already has physically visible bruises on his face. Hardly being treated ‘okay’ and he probably had already only been captured for a few hours after the footage was shown. I’m just hoping him and the rest of the regiment will be able to make it through this.

@james6401 It was good to actually see it, but perhaps it’s not so smart right now considering they are obviously wanting to keep a lot of their locations within the factory area hidden.

I couldn’t agree more. Him and the rest of the volunteers are doing exactly what all three nations armies should be doing right now. Being captured is a possibility in war and him and the rest of the army knew this and they did everything they could right to the end. We can’t just keep sitting on the sidelines now while this is happening when we know that we genuinely can make a difference with our own physical presence on the ground. We need more people to have the guts like him to do what is right and volunteer to help, but what we really need to do is make our governments finally see sense and do what their responsibility calls on them to do and get physically military to end this hell ASAP.

@easymoney8535 Absolutely. It’s even been proven that they are wanting to force them to do a referendum that was announced a few weeks ago and is already believed obviously that it would be massively rigged.

Yeah but it definitely shouldn’t be. All prisoners should be treated with respect. We do so with our prisoners, but I guess, like always, the Russians don’t do the same for anyone else’s. I hope that him and the rest of the regiment are able to make it back to where they call home after this. Either at the end of the war or via prisoner exchange.

Anyone who joins up knows that it is a possibility. He knew the risk and seems to have accepted it well as heard some of the others. It is not foolishness but is just smart. I just hope that the remaining forces in the city can hang on until reinforcements arrive. And to all the soldiers have been taken prisoner, I hope you are able to survive and make it home safely after this.

@joemoore7447 Many are and continuing to do so. It’s just that many people have their own responsibilities they cannot leave.

@laknidubandara It’s definitely a part of it, but that can only go so far.

You may be alive for now, but unscathed is a massive exaggeration. Russians don’t care how badly they treat their prisoners so long as they are still alive. Internationally though they will want to keep any volunteers from the international community alive for propaganda or try and lower hostilities so at least he still has that. I just hope this doesn’t dissuade people from joining internationally with Ukrainian forces. If anything this should be something to encourage people to do more of to help get these chaps back sooner.
