  1. This must surely break an engineer’s heart. Imagine knowing how long you’ve worked on building F35 and then hearing one of them has gone down in the ocean and may never even be recovered for material recycling.

  2.  @rvbvbaservices  It makes me relieved that the UK is developing our own variant of the F35 which will be just as efficient and much much cheaper.

  3. I honestly didn’t see this coming so soon. I’m pretty sure this is the first F35 I’ve ever actually heard of crashing in the first place, and that includes over any active combat areas.😩 It’s quite embarrassment, especially considering how much they cost. They aren’t a waste of money to buy, but they certainly are if they end up crashing without even seeing the face of battle. This is a very sad day indeed. I’m wondering though if they actually truly will just leave it at the bottom of the sea or whether some kind of retrieval operation will be attempted. After all, it’s materials are still worth recycling if it can’t be at all repaired even for some of the components, and it will still have a black box on board to help see what went wrong.
