  1. This is very true. I hate, for example that this is happening more and more in London. However, at least in London, they actually try to explore unique architectural shapes to compensate for the removal of unique areas or the increasingly obscure skyline. From what I’ve seen of Tokyo, it looks like they haven’t bothered with this and just keep adding more basic shapes like something from a Lego set never ending Lee because it’s the cheapest thing to do. There’s never any real money invested in exteriors, only the minimalist interiors, and it is a drain on the soul. I really do feel that if Japan actually invest in bringing in more foreign architects, this could be prevented.
