If that’s not a cover that catches your attention and the feeling that I’m sure all of us would have if we saw what we are seeing in person I don’t know what is. I’m really surprised and relieved she had the guts to enter Ukraine and go right to where all of this has happened. It’s quite an amazing feat and step forward really for an EU politician to go and do this it reminds me very muchOf when the Queen visited the site of a natural disaster in the UK for the first time as that was a major break from tradition and policy and the Royal family is better off for it. If politicians from higher positions like this did more on the ground action to actually see what was going on things would be a lot better. Relieved that von der Leyen did this.

@andym9571 Yes our government was slow to act at first but definitely among the 1st to call it out. We know our island nation’s legacy and don’t want to be seen in the same way America was when they betrayed us by not joining in the fight straight away. We want to show the world that we truly do care and we have been right to do so by calling putting out and making sure we get the weapons there on the ground both before and during the invasion to help.

I couldn’t agree more. The threat of nuclear war overhanging it is what is the major hold-up from us going in there straight away, but I truly do believe that even Putin wouldn’t be willing to go that far as not only would it negatively affect him both if or didn’t get nuked, but he would also lose multiple trading nations that he needs to prop up his nation as well as callously what him and his allies considered a tourist spots. We should be going over there and giving the Russians everything we’ve got to force them back and truly make change happen in Russia, even if it means getting a few bruises on our end.

@Silvergalaxy7383 No, we can also volunteer ourselves outside of our national borders as well as helping to donate money, supplies and any weapons we can get our hands on. It’s not just a case of going in with the army, or just simply sitting back and doing nothing. There is a middle ground.
