That’s why we need to make sure the Rwanda agreement actually works out.

This is just ridiculous. And to think that hasn’t even been a public statement about this. This should’ve been more front-page news. And to think, it feels like DJI drones and other cheaper models in Ukraine of being more effective than these hugely expensive custom drones being operated by the border force. It’s freaking ridiculous. Just goes to show how much these private companies who are spending so much on development really are just wasting their time when many skilled people with a little bit of know-how or just simply do this kind of thing for a hobby can come up with a more efficient model for a far cheaper price in probably half the time. I mean, the Russians basically flaunted something similar for their so-called homegrown UAV, but it turned out to be a bunch of overpriced junk, and it would break my heart if it turns out the UK government (although I in no way suggest they did it to the same extent) was doing the same thing. This needs to be quietly investigated and further backup development with more diverse skilled individuals involved.

I think you have probably got it backwards there. They went most likely for a more overhyped, overpriced product rather than a cheaper option that was actually done by people who had passion for this kind of work that could be mass produced. They just simply advertise it like this to politicians because they are too dumb to know any better because they hardly properly research this area. Ukraine is showing this against the Russians and as a result is showing up the West as well in just how much we are paying for a drone development but in the end, if they aren’t actually able to actually live up to their promises (in actual practical conditions rather than simulated tests) that they are just overpriced pieces of junk. We need to go back to actual analog mode where you go to trial and error trial and error, were you damaged the aircraft on purpose, learn from your mistakes and keep improving. Companies spend too much now on simulated testing building one single prototype and try and get it through the end line. SpaceX and Tesla have learned not to do this and they are succeeding. Other companies need to do the same now.
