Well we all saw that one coming. Even if some Labour MPs were indeed more genuinely patriotically than others, it’s not going to help them now as people are just going to suspect that they are in fact faking it just to try and curry favour with the public. The fact that one Labour MP actually called it as trying to “curry favour with the nativist right” is very disturbing. I’ve never voted labour and I never well now in the future.

@adrianlloyd6403 Exactly. It’s so damn hypocritical. That’s why I am indeed a supporter of democracy and rights for all, ‘as we all should be’, but I am also as openly patriotic as I want to be, and no one else I know from any class or background has a problem with that.

@louisfenner75 It’s exactly why I trust an environmental activist, a farmer, a soldier, a scientist or an ex-doctor as prime minister any day over what we usually get. Why don’t any of those guys ever run!?
