  1. Exactly, it feels more like we are trying to supplement any use of effective soldiers with technology just to try and get the same level of effectiveness whilst having to pay less people. I like to see how this will all work out if we ever go into a conflict with a nation that has actually got hundreds of thousands of soldiers on its front lines. Because that is definitely going to be happening soon now.

  2. I would prefer all of this, so long as we didn’t reduce any more of our military numbers than what we already have. I am the son of an army man and I’m absolutely appalled at the reductions in the army we’ve seen since 2010. They’ve all been horrific and despite the governments constant reassurances, things have continued to get worse. Not just in numbers but also in historic regiments. The fact that this is likely to continue is soo saddening. I can only hope that this restructuring will be worth it, especially with more ships and aircraft coming. The fact that our fleet had reduced so radically over the decades is terrible, so now that they are finally coming back and the RFA getting more aircraft (hopefully soon to be homemade) is a massive relief. It does feel like we are getting a few pros here with a massive con.
