  1. We will probably be back eventually if the local forces cannot keep things together, but for now, this is the right thing to do. We really have been there long enough now, and the primary goals really have been achieved, even if things are still tenuous at best over there, and if they can’t maintain themselves after everything we have been pushing to do over there for almost two decade, then there really isn’t any point in trying anymore. Not without an absolute total invasion with every single soldier and piece of equipment we have. For now, we need to start pulling back, and re-focusing efforts on the next greater threat to come from the CCP and possibly Russia.

  2. There is probably some truth to that, in all honesty it really does make sense. America massively overspends on its military anyway, so this is an unfortunate, but in the long term necessary sacrifice.
