@tomhenry897 oh definitely. I mean, we don’t want them to reduce shell manufacturing quality down to that of what the Russians did, but the way they do it at this French facility, and possibly close to how we do it in the UK as well, is way too perfectionist to match the rate needed in a realistic nation on nation war. We need to go back to more simple techniques in some areas to speed it up for the time being.

Okay, from what I’ve seen of the manufacturing process in the UK, and then the larger scale over in the US, am I the only one who thinks that the French technique for manufacturing the 155 mm shells is a little bit TOO perfectionist? It feels very, FRENCH, in the way they are doing it. A little bit too over the top. No wonder they only produce 600 in a week. They definitely need to be ramping up production multiple times over. Probably are going to need at least two additional factories. Still though, at least they are committed to their work and trying their best. Now it’s just up to the government and the construction workers, let alone the head manufacturers to massively expand and speed up.

It’s certainly a very perfectionist job. Unfortunately, when there is very slow demand, it’s easy to be stuck into a routine of doing things a certain way. They need to be able to eventually switch over, despite how hard it will be, to more of a manufacturing production line like that of bullets (or WW2 way for shells) in order to actually make the amounts needed. Right now we do need quality, but more so quantity, and that just isn’t what they seem to be able to provide at this French manufacturer. The US one is better, but they still too need to massively expand by at least three times in order to keep up anywhere near demand.

Absolutely. With that number, it should definitely be able to achieve the eventual goals. I don’t think this French manufacturer will be able to keep up with demand by any level, but if they can truly double their production level and combine it with other manufacturers and suppliers around the world, it should be possible.
