  1. Yeah, I very much doubt it would’ve been started right now with the current tensions and so much of Russia’s efforts being diverted to the war. They’ve come this far now that they can’t really stop it. It would be a real disaster if this one also failed to land like the Indian wondered. Although honestly, it’s also really disappointing that India is focusing so much on space when they have such rampant poverty.

  2. Yeah pretty much. They’ve completely fucked themselves over. Even if this landing does succeed, which honestly it has a 50-50 chance of failing as much as succeeding, it won’t add up to anything probably beyond that. The real rivals right now are between SpaceX (I say that because nursery itself is more, so just a passenger and hasn’t truly innovated as much as SpaceX is right now), whatever China comes up with and ESA.

  3. Well, seeing as most likely this launch in the end will be a publicity stunt now, rather than something progressing to something more due to the sanctions and crippling financial problem, It looks like they really are having an effect. They came too far to just stop it now.
