Definitely when it comes to all those statues that were taken down or vandalised about two years ago here in the West (a lot of those shouldn't have been taken down), but a lot of those just remembered the people for who they were and what they did rather than just out right glorifying them. This statue here in Ukraine, like many across Russian as well where more designed to send a message rather that just accurate portraits of people. A message that it no longer true or relevant, so it has so to, but not forgotten. And just like when you take down a dictator's statue, it helps to send a new message of overall change within that country as well as to others.
