  1. True, BUT, You can’t just go replace every single old tree with a new baby tree. That would be so foolish, as not only, would you then be losing these historic monuments of nature, old trees are much better at sucking up carbon from the atmosphere and locking it in the ground. Not only do baby trees not do that anywhere near as efficiently, but once you take away the old trees and they start rotting, they will start releasing a lot of that carbon back into the atmosphere again, unless you bury them. As they aren’t going to be buried, chopping down more trees with the green washing of saying you will plant new ones is really terrible. There needs to be a balance.

  2. Exactly. We are trying to do this a little bit in marts of the UK now by using ‘horses again’ to take out selective trees from inside the forests without destroying them and the horses don’t destroy the surrounding environment like a giant tracked vehicle would. Things could go full circle. We neeeeeed to make sure though right now under that there is a limit, AND DEFINITELY DON’T TOUCH HISTORIC AND ANCIENT FORESTS.
