Bringing even more disgrace on our serving personnel and the history of all these regiments that stretch back decades (if not centuries). And we thought the terrible cuts in about 2010 were bad enough. It feels like they will never stop.

@SNOWDONTRYFAN Here here. A number of soldiers for our country is getting embarrassing now. Even though the Navy is finally getting an increase, it is still worrying that we will have to wait a while before we get all of the necessary aircraft, as we have gone and cancelled some of the orders of F35s to develop our Tempest variant. Fingers crossed they will ‘at least’ be as advanced. This’s still no substitute though for our necessary landforces.

It’s a total Catch-22. They want more soldiers but the same time they keep wanting to cut everything, keeping them away. Which as a result of the low recruitment means that they feel they have to reorganise the army. The government keep shooting themselves in the foot here.

This is hardly a sorting out when we will see significant reductions. We may be getting better equipment (which in this case isn’t entirely needed), but aside from that this is a disaster for the army once again.

@DieNibelungenliad We can only hope so.

@Laser82 Yeah, although, perhaps a coupe wouldn’t have been a bad idea here after all.😓😞

@dand6520 Yeah, that’s what we’re afraid of. No more new troops. Just retraining current ones and getting rid of long needed existing regiments.

@SNOWDONTRYFAN Yep, and with China mooning the rest of the world with its confidence in being able to do whatever it wants without real consequences, we are utterly screwed.

@Itstheoaks Yeah we are sure to see this with the armies of a greater unnecessary push for women soldiers in the regular frontline positions. They are already being given a handicap, which is even greater in the US, and we certainly don’t need it here. Many British male soldiers have already complained since the changes first started about this, but to no avail and it is continuing even harder in their recruitment videos for the Royal Navy and Army. This needs to stop.
