  2. Sadly, I agree. I still want to cling on though and support my country as best I can when I can, in hopes that it can saved. It will never be the same again, but hopefully something can be retrieved to stem the tide of this oncoming destruction, and restored.

  3. I feel the same way. I was in my early teens then, but I still remember the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Princess Kate and the Diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II as being one of the most patriotic and wonderful times of my entire life. 3 years of wonder. We don’t seem to have this as much anymore and it is heartbreaking. I will not let people take this away from me. We need to retrieve what we have lost, and this starts with home and education.

  5. I wish to do the same. Thankfully many councils are fighting back against this now and are not allowing it to become a symbol of stigma (that is caused by hiding it which makes it a taboo unnecessarily in the first place) by openly putting out the St George’s flag on St George’s Day in all it might on a very large scale. They did that this year and it was such a relief to see. So hopefully the unwarranted dangerous stigma against our National flag can now be repaired.

  7. Absolutely on point. Those at the BBC who would still be wanting to do this, wouldn’t be able to get the higher backing to do so or all of the staff without being criticised themselves even though nothing here is wrong or should be taboo to say.

  9.  @Dancestar1981 I’m sorry that this ended up happening in Australia as well. When it is not taught, it will be revisioned by those that want the narrative to be in their favour.😔 We need to stop this and bring back the open full studies ASAP. Be brave.

It is very hard to do and obviously for our counterparts over the US many of them are not told the right things by their parents, but I feel in the UK it is definitely necessary. In schools sadly, even when I was at school many years ago, we definitely weren’t being given the whole picture. Has to learn many of the important things on my own.

  14. I unfortunately didn’t vote for them as I didn’t feel like they were likely to get into power and I don’t believe in their policies on green energy which are hugely lacking. If they had actually cared about protecting the climate more, I totally would’ve voted for them rather than voting Labour for the first time ever. And yeah, I’m already regretting it.😅

  21. I wonder really when the last time it was they did this kind of thing consistently. It feels really like it was in the early 2010s when we were at the point of the 2011 Royal wedding, the Diamond Jubilee and the London Olympics. After that, down hill.

  23. This definitely is the case. When you do not have a true blooded enemy outside, you want to find fault and an enemy within. You do this because it is easier by instinct than fighting with actual blood against an enemy that can easily destroy you from the outside. It is pure cowardice.

  27. This’s absolutely what we need more of in schools again. I did get a bit of this when I was at school in the UK (I think from what little I remember from back then) about 15 years ago, but never really to this extent. We should’ve gotten this.

  30. This can be equally applied to religious groups as well. It is sadly used on a much more stringent, educational mass produced, controlled way in China against the Muslim minority population against their will to remove their identity. We need to fight this before this becomes US.
