  2. Origami was not created for aesthetics. It was a religious practice, like Zen . It was always an extremely serious thing in Japan. There is a dragon in a temple in the Fukui prefecture, not far from Eiheiji temple where i studied Zen for a a few years, made of folded paper. The dragon is about a meter and a half long and seventy centimeters high and is over 200 years old. It was folded by the monks or priests as a common meditative practice. It was made out of a single sheet of paper, but every scale has been folded individually (and there are thousands of them), every tooth, the peaks on the head and the back, and every claw. And the amazing part is that it is articulated (although now it is never manipulated because the paper is too old). I am telling you, you have never seen Origami until you have seen this dragon . It is said that there was also a carp made of paper in the temple but it was destroyed or the carp was actually unfolded and then folded back into a dragon as a way to illustrate the mythological legend of the carp turning into a dragon which represents enlightenment, and that the action was repeated regularly by students at the temples to as a way to transform themselves from carp to dragon. This origami is absolutely magnificent.

  4. So when you drink water in LA , you actually drink all sort of chemicals plus plastic bits. Well i am glad i grew up in Iceland and live in the mountains around Lausanne , and here the water from my tap comes from a mountain lake and is basically like drinking Evian, which by the way is a city i can see from my house since it is just across the lake Leman .
