  7. @brockcharz2104  The US didn't take Hawaii. The monarchy there ceeded power to the US because they understood the world had advanced around them so much, that they could easily be conquered at any time. It was their best choice.

  8. @brockcharz2104  Unless something has changed in the English language overnight, there is a great difference between taking something and willingly being given something. I reality, the Queen dissolved the monarchy first.

  9. @brockcharz2104  Because the inhabitants formed a Republic government there after the monarchy was dissolved. Then 7 years later, they voted to join the US, same as every other state that joined the US. Pressure was caused by Empirial Japan, who was very busy taking a lot of other islands in the pacific during that time.

  10. @brockcharz2104  Yes, Hawaii became a Republic in 1894. They voted to join the US after that. No one is trying to fool anyone here except for you. The USSR took Ukraine for its farm land which caused about 1,000,000 people to starve in Ukraine. The Union of Soviet Socialists Republic ceased to exist in 1991. All of its former colonies became independent countries again.

  11. @brockcharz2104  Annexed isn't a bad word, it means "added to". All the States were annexed into the Republic after they agreed to join. So after voting Democratically in Hawaii, Hawaii asked to join the US, and so the US voted to annex Hawaii into them.

  12. @brockcharz2104  In contrast, Ukraine never voted to joined the USSR, however by force, the USSR annexed Ukraine into their Republic.

  13. @brockcharz2104  Became a Republic in 1893. Petitioned for annexation. Was annexed in 1898. This is nothing like how the USSR acquired Ukraine.
