  1. Hey TLDR, governments don't trade, private companies do. Moreover, trade balances have nothing to do with the wealth of the citizenry, since the countries with the biggest trade deficits are rich. The countries with the biggest trade surpluses are also rich. This would only confuse you if you were ignorant of the first point.
