  2. @TheHistorianX The mere suggestion that the top 10% of income earners, by virtue of their wealth, are also the same researchers, scientists, engineers, technicians, innovators and workers who are responsible for the bulk of advancement, quite literally makes me sick. You have hideously warped/preconceived notions about this issue, and I'm convinced it'll take all day to attempt to undo them, so unless u can deal in smaller nuggets, I have to respectfully disengage.

  3. @Capng123 if u don't agree with a trillion dollar bank bailout, or a trillion dollars spent on the wars, or artificially high deficit thanks to debt based currency issuance, i.e u don't like how taxes are spent and u don't pay, you are not exiled as u describe; u lose your liberty and money is reallocated away from social programs in order to imprison u. the prison population in the u.s is more than the rest of the world combined. if u gladly pay into all this, you're not thinking

  4. @Leadman1989 to recap, u implied you're against voluntarism because the rich would "screw everyone over", i.e they wouldn't contribute to society (they're avoiding tax as it is, as well as polluting our habitat). I'm asking if you'd be fine with voluntarism if the means of production were commonly owned; in the same way that public schools, libraries and roads are commonly owned; and businesses were cooperatives, i.e owned by the workers at the business and by it's customers

  7. @TheHistorianX You mean to say you're completely ignorant of society being charged interest for the use of it's own currency via the fed? Or of market oligopolies/monopolies/price fixing? Or of market manipulation/insider trading concerning commodities and housing? Or of unfair management remuneration e.g. banking CEO's paying themselves tax funded bailout money in multi-million dollar bonuses and golden parachutes? Have u had your head stuck somewhere for the past three years?

  12. @TheHistorianX the top 10% take 60% of total U.S national income, but pay only 40% of all tax contributions. They're paying a smaller percentage than the rest of us. The way society currently runs, i have no problem at all with the bottom 90% chasing the top 10% via govt to make sure that if they take 60% of national income, they better pay 60% of tax contributions. Anything else is lunacy

  14. @BOZ11 if an untaxed society doesn't willingly contribute to social programs, then that society doesn't deserve social programs. i must not take your money under the pretences of knowing how to spend it better if u are an adult. charitable contributions are significant even with a crippling tax burden. that contribution would skyrocket with the tax burden lifted. For voluntarism to work, we'd of course need to do away with the amoral profit motive, and the legal fiction of corporation
