I'm not defending Russia, I'm simply stating that I really don't think there is a more harmful state on earth than the marriage between corporate America and the US administration; this is so, not because they're any more or less corrupt than Russian oligarchs, but because of the vast political, financial and militaristic resources they have to hand, which is unmatched.

I'm sure the Russians have their own surveillance program, it's just I can't imagine it would be more effective than the marriage between the US alphabet agencies and their cooperation with ISP's and all the big tech' companies like MS, Apple and Google etc. Their dubious intent isn't any less dubious, but I can't help but think of Russian leaders as less capable.
