  1. "Recession" is just two or more quarters of consecutive negative GDP growth. If the purchasing power of the median salary workers is stable or better, the recession should be ignored. GDP and wealth are not the same thing. America has the highest GDP, with very poor purchasing power for their relative GDP strength.
