  1. The Adam and Eve story is an allegory. The specie of fruit is irrelevant; the pertinent point is that something was decreed by God as forbidden, then Eve transgressed. The transgression is the point, not the fruit. It's a literary device, nothing more EDIT: Good stuff, as always
