Many of the great north African figures were Turkic (Qutuz, Baibars), Phoenician (Hannibal and his family), Cleopatra (Macedonian with some Persian and Sogdian Iranian ancestry). I'm sure some figures were European, but less notable and less prevalent. You also seem to be ignorant of the Berbers and Copts, who are white and also indigenous to north Africa

@tdowell8615 no, it's like Obama becoming president of usa. Heraclius had Armenian descent. in any case there's very little roman influence in north africa, it is very much an extension of the middle east (Arabised). I'll duck out if you insist otherwwise

it's silly to be proud of some immutable feature. being proud of the country u were born in is like being proud of being born with toes, or eyes. intelligent people look for virtues to place their pride

@tdowell8615 the impact from europe isn't cultural, it's a legacy of economic abuse via colonialisation (that they're still paying for)
