Nagorno-Karabakh is part of Azerbaijan, officially. Azerbaijan declared sovereignty on September 23, 1989, and independence on August 30, 1991, which includes the Nagorno-Karabakh region. It was re-claimed by the Azeri. Artsakh (the so-called Armenian republic) was dissolved on 1st Jan 2024
