  2. i think DNA manipulation will be a fail compared to natural selection. We pull one level and myriad of other things happen; moreover we have very limited insights into how we (human cells) interact with our microbiome (there are 30% MORE cells in/on us than human cells) and we have no way of understanding the longer term consequences of our actions (centuries to millennia). We're basically chimpanzees sat at a computer terminal.

These animals didn't sprout brand new DNA in preparation for their immediately new environment. These new expressions can and are inherited, but gene expression and it's heritability is not speciation, unless you want to argue that elite Kenyan runners (for example) are not Homo Sapiens.

  4. I cannot believe he cited the Flynn effect as evidence of evolution. Talk about getting gene expression (and the fact that genes and gene expression are inherited) utterly confused with evolution.
