@vgold4286 further to your point, how many guys with ELO 1700 and 2000 are this popular? About none

@tomwright9904 obtain resources, give to the ones with no Y chromosome

"I never experienced having a grandpa and he was here on youtube felt so much love, care, and honesty" - Touch grass

How is Destiny involved in this? It's offensive that he should breathe the same air as Dr Finkelstein
8
@proronen eh? their land was carved up by Britain and the west without their permission. in nakba they were driven out of their homes, by the hundreds of thousands. they dont even have a Govt to declare war with! wtf are u talking about?
8
But he's a theorist, who makes illustrations. There's no workable information here to set up a test. How do you test creativity? I'm wrestling with his idea that the universe is deterministic backwards, but probabilistic moving forwards.
7
@Di_Clara He's informed on a great deal, like the end of the recent glacial age, and megafauna migration. His sacred geometry speeches are deliberately opaque.
6
@Di_Clara not everything has a moral focus. A thing only need be interesting to be studied and discussed.
6
i know you don't mean to imply you can't discern between a person and a rock, so what exactly are you saying?
5
It's just talk radio on a web page, buddy
5
@adambrodman6229 Palestinians didn't aggress or declare war. they're the victims
5
I know Lex is totally bummed out by the idea that if computational power expanded 1 million times over what it is today, we still couldn't achieve consciousness synthetically. I don't think it's a bad thing that we never get to toy with something so devastating. We can't handle nuclear fission without a catastrophe and great loss of life every 30 years, never mind this monster.
5
@MissJ629 a lot of the greats were. Bas Rutten, Cormier, Dodson, JDS, etc. You know how many bullies held UFC gold? None
4
45:00 "Humans can reason, so why can't neural networks?" - He really thought his answer was not a non-answer. Love my double negatives.

i have some elk meat in my freezer if u want

Free will is an illusion

@EF-fc4du if they were unattractive with the SAME personalities, we'd see some issues with subscribership
3
@EF-fc4du oh I never implied it was a guarantee, but just being a woman on a male dominated platform is, as you say, a serious advantage. One thing that's incredibly ironic, and hypocritical of the girls, is that they used to deride men who play video games, and now they're all over it looking for attention. I thought games were for losers, girls? They never create their own spaces and never develop their own hobbies. It's even the case with professional football or tennis, they piggyback their tournaments onto the men's events, and then expect equal pay when they bring in 25% of the ticket revenue. We've got ring girls making more money than fighters. I'll stop here since I rattled on too much

@MrSilus2000 Actually Kasparov even Magnus won't beat the best chess programs
2
@jaycuthbert245 "Seriously some of the stuff joe says and the stuff her argues at times is embarrassingly laughable" - i've been watching Joe since 08 and that's really not the case. Not with the sort of frequency that would render your comment truthful

A small hat interviews a small hat
2
He doesn't know the difference between equity (fairness) and equalisation. Equalisation isn't fair, merit (which is equity) IS fair
2
@paulhaney8326 Royce was only at the top for 3 years. After tying with Ken Shamrock he took a 5-year hiatus and returned with a very even record after that.
2
@bhbluebird i mean yeah, but s.u. if consciousness is not a computational problem, and given that computers only solve computational problems our creations will always lack the I in AI, and therefore it's a massive misnomer.
2
@waylorudd1128 nah, they're boring af EDIT: so are the chess players to be fair
1
@fartloudYT yeah, they're rare. Who'd have thought that obsessing over one thing doesn't round you out 😆

@aaaa-eg4ck "This just isn't what people typically like to reveal about themselves" - u mean like being bullied??? There's no way Yan, Rampage or Brock were ever bullies; my examples are documented, yours are pulled from somewhere else (you know what I'm saying). Having said that, from what there is in the media, Jones and Dillashaw did engage in bratty behaviour, which isn't bullying in and of itself. "given how many people with a fiery temper there are in martial arts" Guys who can't control their tempers don't win gold.
1
@aaaa-eg4ck Tyson was bullied mate, as a kid. Even Sugar Ray Leonard was abused, some of the greatest fighters of all time.
1
@aaaa-eg4ck u haven't given me any examples. Tyson wasn't a bully afaik, and he's spoken openly about his childhood on his podcast. Jog on mate
1
@aaaa-eg4ck I didn't, at any point, contradict myself.
1
@TheNameIsFreddy you can't brow beat anyone into appreciating anything. they're here, watching, commenting. relax
1
i think you have to be pretty sick, and i mean ill health, of mind, to want to leave and/or destroy this beautiful planet.
1
look how many sons Joe Rogan has fathered!

@loicgrossetete9570 "AI as intelligent as an human is far away" - I think you misunderstand the size of the problem. It might well be outside our scope. Imagine attempting to teach algebra to a Labrador. Woof
1
@loicgrossetete9570 Intelligence has to be a feature of an actor which can turn to potentially any problem and at least begin working toward a solution (whether it finds it or not, not concerned about resolution). AI is coded such that parameters for a specific task must be set by the programmer (we're still OK here), the problem then is moving to another task means making substantial changes to the code and defining then adjusting the parameters for finding the solution to the new problem. If it needs constant input any time you're dealing with even a modified problem (not even an entirely new problem) then it isn't "intelligence" in any meaningful definition of the word. The machine doesn't understand what a "problem" is. It chisels away (removing wrong turns in its process) in a deterministic fashion faster than we could, but that's not intelligence.

@rryanreid And GSP, Josh Barnett, etc.

the opposite of love is indifference. lex should stick to coding

30 is a baby. you won't know sh1t until 45

@therainman7777 cool story bro

But he's a theorist, who makes illustrations. There's no workable information here to set up a test. How do you test creativity?

lex's opening line, over a board game, is a tad ridiculous
1
@PrinceOthemitten no, i mean opaque. You're obtuse
1
to be frank, Ilya is uncomfortable and cumbersome in his speech. It's not his first language though

J00z were instrumental in inculcating Communism in China. Easy to find the info' if you use a certain Russian search engine.

His diet is actually crap. Imagine if he ate a keto diet strictly for 12 weeks, then carb'd up the morning of the match. If i were going into anything strength related, i'd check my electrolytes and do blood tests for mineral and hormone levels every 6 to 8 months. Your muscles can't fire optimally unless your electrolyte levels are in the right place; that's just a biological fact
1
you haven't actually said where they intersect
1
jordanaasen6904 scientists run tests, they discover. He has an untestable hypothesis

@ca6360 ye she do
1
That was a beautiful catch, understanding that 'store of value' is not in contradiction to 'means of exchange' because they're characteristics that make up a definition (of money), not prescriptions. It's a literal balancing act, but you wouldn't cleave off one end of a seesaw
1
i can't believe they actually had a discussion on whether a silver back gorilla would beat a brown bear in a fight. my high school years fade into view
