0:35 - James Cameron didn't direct Aliens 3 onwards. Cameron's never made a stinker. Probably the GOAT director.

@Yarblocosifilitico "less of a business and more of a psy op" -- here's the comment i was looking for.
27
@Nightwizard63 the investors/shareholders CHOOSE the management. Come on
23
@AndrewThoesen yeah i saw it yesterday; i refused to watch until i saw the positive metacritic reviews. I recommend seeing it in the cinema for the plane scenes. I thought they were going to disembowel one of my childhood movie favs, but i was wrong. No f3minist clap-trap, no undermining of old man Tom, quite the opposite. Strong screenplay, and I almost jerked a tear in the second half and i havent cried over a film since i was an infant in the 80s.
18
@henryjoshual1848 it's great because it took in spades from the original, and stood on its own shoulders
15
She has to eventually, she's like 71 years old. I think people should be forcibly removed from work when they hit 70. 85% of people aged 70+ are nuts
13
@sirloin8745 NO, THEY'RE MINE
13
@elgerifico Gal is not even average looking. Some semite connections maybe
11
@nathanhoffman20000 the mega corps are that. sharks promote sharks
9
they don't care about the financial losses, more mystery money will be thrown at it
9
@jdub1742 you're silly. there's no way avatar 2 is an average film, especially in 2022. it's easily in the top 6 or 7 films released this year; my #1 is Maverick though
8
$80m is huge for a non blockbuster
8
@brick6347 Daily Mail reader?
8
@bumble-bee189 she read the script and accepted the role. it's called 'accountability'
7
kylemylo3776 Stop being such a try hard. I said Cameron's up there as maybe GOAT **director**, and you came up with a film directed by Robert Rodriguez
7
they ALREADY profited; and box office takings arent ONE *ucking weekend
5
@joshuakennedy7359 the film is firmly above average; therefore, the problem isn't the film per se, since you KNEW what to expect since you'd already seen the original. The issue is: You failed to calibrate your expectations. The mere fact that people wanted Godfather II screenwriting in a 3D family flick is pretty delusional. It's cool to hate, kids; that's really what's going on. Everybody's a connoisseur all of a sudden
5
@dustytransitor866 detested why? good king viserys is clearly honourable, and not the weak man the other characters assumed him to be
4
check out the like/dislike ratio on the trailer
4
@dutchmansmine9053 #1 demographic in London is Balkan Europeans. Stop reading Murdoch media
4
ye we dont need to not harm the earth in 2022
4
you like Gadot as a person? She's a former IDF "soldier"; Zio connections gave her a career
3
@jamescarr1265 i just prefer Doody, she was smoking hot and charismatic.
3
@Darkstar_Dayne nah, Bond, to me, like a 38-42 year old career civil servant. He's never been played by someone in their 20s. It just wouldn't make sense.
3
@Biring1 to be frank, "underrated" is a fkn meme at this point
2
would bang
2
@dutchmansmine9053 85% of Londoners are not Muslim. Maybe stop reading gutter press
2
"to die for"? meh, Alison Doody. God
2
@dlbarnes Gal is androgynous
2
My only criticism of the movie is that Tom and Jen had zero chemistry.
2
ojizarcozurdo9925 Ripley from Aliens? Rebecca De Mornay in The Hand that Rocks the Cradle? Famke Janssen's Jean Grey? Kathy Bates, in Misery? I could go on....
1
do u know that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker made $1bn? about 3x its budget. Where do u clowns get the idea that they're not making money?
1
it was good that Gina got fired, because she's already starred in the only two seasons of Mandalorian worth a damn, saved herself the professional embarrassment of involvement from season 3 onwards, and hopefully gets a large 7 figure settlement for breakage of labor law. Win/win
1
Great timeless film
1
Drinker, Kelly McGillis in the 80s, smokes Jen Connolly at any age.
1
"How did they fumble this SO hard..." -- feminism + need to poop on the past
1
i will not hear bad words about Oberyn Martell!
1
Half-cocked? Kathleen doesn't have one at all, nevermind half of one
1
it's like the top brass at Disney didn't give a sh1t about Mando, it had nearly no budget, and was Jon Favreau's baby, then it picked up serious popularity and the execs were like: "ALRIGHT WE'RE IN CHARGE NOW, AND MANDO IS AN IDIOT WHO NEEDS CONSTANT SAVING BY BOOBS, I MEAN BO KITAN"
1
The real misogynists, are feminist writers.
1
CGI really doesn't need to be expensive. You need one good full-time artist ($80k/year), one big powerful desktop PC ($3000), and a copy of Maya ($1800/year). You can get outstanding results for under $90k
1
dont jinx it. David Benioff and D. B. Weiss were great, and pretty quickly they weren't
1
c'mon this is the golden age of TV. A huge chunk of the top 50 TV shows of all time were created after 2004
1
@PinkHitMe yours is a love boner, then?
1
A musical? F*k off, film
1
Officially insulted the T-800
1
nah, 6 is average (albeit high average). This film is a solid 7 to 7.5. Slight casting issue with Alfred and maybe Gordon (he doesn't have the authority or guiding light of the commissioner). I agree, the ending felt out of place, but it's actually a higher starting point than Nolan's Batman Begins. Looking good, well up for the next one
1
@PsychoRavager how is The Batman an average of the last 12 months of releases? You're insane. Nothing in the last year is better, as far as big budget blockbusters are concerned.
1
@PsychoRavager "I rate films based on their merit and standards set by the best of the best" - erm, so a 5 compared only to the classics is a bit fkn stellar, isn't it? Rhetorical question
1
@johannduplessis3467 well, spiderman isn't a better movie, though it is a fine movie, however, it's clearly meant for younger audiences and so your affinity to it makes more sense
1
Avatar 2 was so high brow u mistakenly thought that the "noble savage" trope was being used, and it wasn't
1
Feminists love men so much, that they spend all their energy penetrating men's spaces (video games, sports, etc)
1
@violinmerchant a religious experience? fk off
1
According to Forbes, by the late 90s, Waterworld did turn a profit (post box office sales). The "huge losses" meme is baseless. Some people are stuck in the mid 90s
1
so which robin hood-esque mob became rich from stealing and then became legislators? dunno, what's a greater fantasy, the tale of robin hood or your suppositions
1
@reniervanloggerenberg3514 It was his *first* project and a VERY low budget B movie. I mean he did The Terminator two years later.
1
@joesuchy1157 Better than Death Proof, and Tarantino is in the discussion
1
@naamadossantossilva4736 the chosen people's money does not run out
1
guu aweh naow
1
meat doesn't clog arteries mate. that would be carbs
1
I love in London, and the biggest demographic are Balkan European. Maybe stop being brainwashed by Murdoch media @dutchmansmine9053
1
well the white people ARE evil, they're written to be. There is no moral quandary either, if your planet is dying, you don't start as you mean to go on. They couldn't have been diplomatic and taken the arse end of Pandora? They MUST commit genocide? Where are your morals?
1
Share price has NOTHING to do with fundamentals. Disney has had positive net income in 16 of the last 17 years. When did you become an expert equities appraiser? They got hit by COVID, but posted $3bn profits end of 2022
1
Initially, i thought: "20 freaking minutes?". i was wrong, great review
1
@lorenzoamoruso6793 haha, i love Leon, but the screenplay was an excuse for some fantastic luc besson action. It was about an orphan girl's weirdly erotic fascination with an old hit man. The story wasn't its raison d'etre. Way to mess up your point
1
@lorenzoamoruso6793 look, u whined about screenwriting (story) then gave a poor example, as much as Leon is an entertaining film. Adios
1
GAMESMASTER! Patrick Moore, the OG of ... gaming. Yes, gaming
1
@filip9564 Sophia's a "bad guy", I was rooting for her against Oz from episode 4.
1
@JoshuaKevinPerry it has a different message: it's ok to kill people in a country that had nothing to do with 9/11
1
Conservatives can't make great art, generally speaking. Hollywood is in shambles precisely because the bean counters have taken over, and the true artists subordinated
1
can't top raging bull or goodfellas
1
2:21 - Those Afghans were literally helping a foreign invader kill their own countrymen. Hey Drinker, would you help the Chinese if their military forces landed on our shores, making war? Those Afghans are traitors, in an illegal war; where Afghanistan had nothing to do with 9/11. According to polling done by the press (the name of the outlet escapes me), some 90% of the respondents didn't even know that 9/11 happened (we're talking about a country with next to no infrastructure). The real tragedy is the death of thousands of Afghans doing the patriotic thing: defending their homeland from a foreign aggressor.

The final quote is beautiful
