@miles5600 Ask yourself how introducing a profit margin (when it could be done at cost price by the public sector) would "drive down cost". Govt can hire the same managers and workers that private companies can; that margin is just siphoning money away from construction and into shareholder pockets. They can get lost.

Every piece of intra state and inter state infrastructure was created by govt, and either kept in the public sector or privatised AFTER the fact, since private companies can't make money off building infrastructure. All they do is steal tax payer monies via their margins, and I knew you were going to assume govt incompetence, but i specifically said that govt can hire the same managers, engineers, workers, etc.

@miles5600 If you need Govt at every turn to manage private excesses, don't have it with the private sector at all; you wrote a long essay that had nothing to do with my rhetorical question. Nothing whatsoever.
