  5.  @herisuryadi6885  no it wasn't, since by 1971 only 55% of USD actually had gold backing, so this was a decades long process (of course it was, who the funk thinks it could happen in 1-3 years?). I laugh my butt off when people say the Nixon Shock ended Bretton Woods. Nixon just found the dead body and pronounced its death in 1971. Refer to my first sentence
