42:43 - Temujin's sons? Ogedei was the greatest of great Khans, perhaps only his father excepted; he captured more territory than his dad and commissioned public works, far exceeding his dad. Projects include the construction of roads, bridges, and infrastructure improvements, enhancing trade and communication across the Mongol Empire; emphasising state-building and administrative development. Unfortunately, the civil war that came after his death, pretty much began the end of the empire.

@LordAini How can someone born after 1950, suffer from the trauma of something not even his grandad experienced?
61
would bang
32
@InquisitorXarius looking for an upside to nuclear holocaust is a special kind of ambivalence.
24
@omimo12 Listen, anyway you slice this situation, the Brits are the bad guys in this conflict. Heck, they even created the situation in the middle east with the British mandate of Palestine, but that's another topic
23
It was absolutely a famine. One manufactured by the British in an ethnic cleansing pogrom.
18
@omimo12 Not at all, since as Horses's outro said: "When people are pushed, they will push back, and they have every right to push back. Meanwhile, we who stand on the sidelines have no right to dictate how they do so" Their resistance is legitimate, British aggression, is not.
15
@Goddess-of-Beer For their time (and we're talking medieval savagery, globally, here), the Ottomans were pretty liberal
13
"When people are pushed, they will push back, and they have every right to push back. Meanwhile, we who stand on the sidelines have no right to dictate how they do so" Your outro was beautiful and applies universally, including Ha mas.
11
@omimo12 But isn't yours the mentality of the persecutor and oppressor?
9
ye the state run media arm of the very same oppressor... 🤣🤣

@LordAini How did the Turkish invade in 1974 if Turks had rights on Cyprus according to international law, 14 years prior (Treaty of Guarantee 1960)? The "invasion" was by the UN ('The United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP)). The United Nations still man the border to this day, and its mainly Slovaks and Argentines that make up the UN armed forces, not Turks. There was no violence until the British arrived. The point I wanted to make is that if not even your granddad experienced oppression, the claims of trauma are paper thin.
5
@LordAini Yes you must be right, you've provided no citations; obviously. Adios
4
@LordAini The UN "invaded", with Canadian peacekeepers in 1974. Greeks broke the Treaty of Guarantee 1960, which explicitly states that no nation can annex it to their territory. Turkey's intervention was covered under their signatory status as a guarantor of the same treaty. The border is literally a United Nations buffer zone, and the UN is still there today, policing the border.
4
Your research is sublime. Economics is a dry subject that 90% of people think they understand, but don't
4
@LordAini The Turkish Govt doesn't run Cyprus, the Cypriot TRNC runs it, and that's a legislature composed 100% of Turkish Cypriots. How could it be an invasion if it was NATO led? Canadian peacekeepers were among the soldiers in '74, so did Canada invade Cyprus?? Well, hopefully your grandfather didn't partake in the illegal annexation (enosis) and ethnic cleansing (by the terrorist group EOKA B) of Turkish Cypriots. Mass open graves of Turks in places like: Maratha, Santalaris and Aloda. I mean it's really peculiar coming across someone who advocates ethnic cleansing, ignores a treaty, and pretends oppressed people can't defend themselves
3
just because one is an academic, doesn't mean they're not retarded
3
@LordAini "Greeks didn't break the treaty of Guarantee, because the treaty has nothing to do with coups" The treaty specifically states that the island cannot be annexed; the military Junta of Greece tried to annex it (via the Enosis plan, and the corresponding ethnic cleansing conducted by EOKA B). I'm getting tired of repeating the same facts. Goodbye

rich people need to feel connection, like anyone; so, the performative poverty is their infantile attempt to relate

"you can get over love" - i suppose it didn't occur to him that you can get over fear, too; and to be frank, often with less difficulty

British food is awful, and I say that as a Brit. Heston Blumenthal, in an effort to disprove this "trope", ended up proving it, by having to go back to the medieval era to find passable dishes
1
@charleshayes3610 "A lot of British cuisine has been lost to history" --Also the fault of the British
1
@LordAini Recognition doesn't matter, land does. As for the link, the UN "invaded", so they ruled against themselves 🤣🤣 Go research the 'The United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP)'', the UN is still there to this day, they're the ones policing the partition that THEY CREATED. The Cyprus border is a United Nations buffer zone
1
@jtt8237 That's unfounded hyperbole. 100% of the TRNC legislature is composed of Turkish Cypriots. There are close diplomatic ties for reasons of security and trade, because the west has put them under a half century long (and counting) embargo, despite Turkish Cypriots being guaranteed rights in Cyprus under the Treaty of Guarantee 1960. Apparently, westerners can ignore international law without consequence, it seems.

@JacobTheThinker Those were Donmeh Je_ws named Djemal Pasha, Enver Pasha, and Talaat Pasha. They were the leaders of the CUP party (a single party dictatorship that took control from the Sultan via a coup). After what they did, they were trialled, and sentenced by the Turks, then the British let them go on the island of Malta (standard procedure for the British), and finally they were assassinated by the Armenians in Operation Nemesis. What did you do with your genocidalists over the 10m dead in India? Scott free eh

@markilleen4027 oh Mark. IDF soldiers testify that they off'd the civilians on Oct' 7th : - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjGL0HFTgiU https://youtu.be/PFxrl8nUb7Q?si=wfhA-M7FXGxwa4ce CBC News, Oct 28, 2023:- "A year later, Netanyahu was further embarrassed when photos of suitcases full of cash going to Hamas became public. Liberman finally resigned in protest over Netanyahu's Hamas policy which, he said, marked "the first time Israel is funding terrorism against itself ... Netanyahu's education minister Naftali Bennett also denounced the payments, and also quit."

Welp, back to work.... 🤣🤣

@Graphomite there's positive and negative violence. killing in self defense is justice. killing someone who's a danger to the survival of the group, is also justice, and because of how many are affected, it's even greater justice than self-defense

"fascism noun [ U ] POLITICS (also Fascism) UK /ˈfæʃ.ɪ.zəm/ US /ˈfæʃ.ɪ.zəm/ Fascism is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and the economy." The kernel is ultra-nationalism + authoritarianism. I think it's moot, whether this authoritarian power is exercised by a single political party or a dictator, since the effect on society is the same. Don't get confused by Marx, he wanted classless + stateless society, the complete inverse of fascism!

it's a matter of degrees. People who are more authentic don't have that many degrees of separation from who they truly are, to what they present. Pretentious people are a veritable hall of bloody mirrors!

u got it. not really what Horses managed to address, just denying it as a potential problem.

@16CullinansYoutube it's chicken and egg. if all kids are non racist, then we couldn't have racist adults, either. There has to be a racist kid who grows to be a racist adult, in a community where it doesn't exist, yet.
