@The-Man-Right-Chea The pipeline is owned by BP a British company, Turkey has no control over it, the UN needs to sanction BP so Turkey will be forced to take action. If Turkey turns off the oil they will be prosecuted by BP and will have to pay billions in compensation. Local laws where the pipeline flows through including Georgia, don't apply so neither country can legally turn off the flow. I would like to see Georgia, where it flows first, or Turkey take this up with the UN so it can be turned off. This has placed a big rift between Turkey and Azerbaijan who are very close allies. It should be noted that Azerbaijan is a secular country and the Muslim population aren't very religious, also Iran has close ties with Armenia.
The pipelines does not go to Israel, the pipeline ends at the port of Ceyhan in southern Turkey. From there, the oil is loaded onto tankers for shipment to international markets, the BTC pipeline does not directly connect to Israel. Its the international oil companies that send the oil to the markets that they sell to, which includes Israel, none of those oil companies are Turkish... No Turkish oil companies currently sell oil directly to Israel from the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline or other major regional sources.
