19:40: "life goes on, whoever is elected" (as a private sector worker). Not really true when you consider that without political support, even our critical services are diminished, like our current supply chain problems, egg and green grocery shortages, energy (a privatized industry) price hikes, food bank explosion, exorbitant prices on foreign goods, etc.
Lastly, he made the erroneous assumption that fiscal spending is funded by taxes; it's the total inverse, since Govt spending comes BEFORE taxation (Govt must put the money in our hands, PRIOR, to being taxed). It's an exercise in logic. Taxes on the rich didn't go up one penny to pay for the national covid vaccination plan, and our inflation was caused by energy companies, and nothing to do with fiscal expansion. The Tories simply have no national spending plans; their manifesto is always and forever: cut public spending, and cut taxes; except they never manage the latter half of that pledge.
