  1. The UK has decades old diplomatic, commercial, defence and security ties with Saudi Arabia, which is (whether we like it or not) is our key partner in the Middle East. The idea that you can maintain those ties, but then bar Saudi Arabia from buying a football club is laughable - particularly when you look at the ‘colourful’ cast of characters who have invested in the Premier League these past 30 years. Any club supporter (in any major sport) would welcome this kind of investment in their club. The whining here comes from mainly from Clubs whose entire balance sheet (and existence) is predicated on ongoing Champions League participation…..
