The pragmatic benefits of transmitting data across a nation are obvious. There was no pushback on it. The academic and commercial branches of the internet allowed people to do things they couldn't do before. And by the time we got to WWW, HTTP had already been widely used in documentation etc. It's true that no private investors wanted to get involved with the World Wide Web, but this was because they didn't think they'd get a good rate of return.

  2. Well Amanda, here's the thing: Most people don't have very much money to save in either a bank account or a crypto wallet. If you're rich enough to be concerned about inflation's effect on your savings, we might simply not have mutal interests.

I, and many others, are so done with letting the market decide for us. I no longer care about what is and isn't profitable. I just want the murder to stop. I no longer care how we stop it.

What you did is like using a credit card in the ATM. Yes, technically you can do it...but don't ever do it unless there are no other options.
