For an example, take the creationist/evolution debate. The middle ground fallacy puts you somewhere inbetween, giving equal consideration to both. But in fact, one of those concepts is a lie and the other is not.

Not a single Christian I know would say that they "met" Jesus, or that they "know" him. All they know is a sample (note: not the totality) of some ancient texts that talk about what he said. (Written by other people) They don't know his favourite colour, his preferred flavour of ice-cream, or anything about his personality. (Some might say he doesn't like figs, but that's up for debate). Hell, they've never had a single conversation with him! So when one person says "Oh yeah, I deal with Christ everyday", the rest of us know that that one person is a liar.   50. ***** Unlike you, I've actually studied Electrical Engineering at college.  I know about wireless transmission, induction, current flow etc.  I've worked with powerful magnetic devices and I understand the science of electromagnetism. Microwaves are literally shooting radiowaves (the same stuff visible light is) at a high frequency.  It heats up food and breaks down some chemical bonds, but that's what cooking is supposed to do.  You can't get cancer from microwaves unless you are literally being microwaved.  Even then, it would be from the burns, not "radiation". LED's have very little electrical emission, you might say that we shouldn't have bright lights at night but its personal preference. I don't have trouble sleeping at night, I know a lot of people who have worked with electricity for decades, they don't have illnesses or anything.
