@TheBauwssss Well in that case I will answer again since you put the effort into it: The average recipient of white privilege probably benefits most when applying for jobs. I have personally met people who have explicitly said they'll never hire black men, for example. People with names associated with ethnic minorities are much less likely to get invited to interviews, etc. Another example is scrutiny applied by people in general, white people are challenged on their authority much less frequently. One of the worst examples is in healthcare, where assumptions about pain tolerance and accusations of faking illness have led to nurses and doctors literally killing non-white patients. You could write a book on the things you don't have to worry about because of your skin tone (and some people have), the general rule is that no matter how hard your life may be, it would be harder in the same circumstances if you were of another race.

But sure, let's chew some bait for a bit: Recognising concepts as being abstract doesn't mean they should be ignored. All it means is that we should acknowledge them as one model to base our understanding on, and that there are others available. In regards to race, it certainly provides more insight when you realise the concept was invented with no scientific basis or even an attempt to be internally consistent. So much about race makes zero sense until you understand this. Knowing this doesn't stop other people from basing their worldview on the concept, though. For some people it underpins a lot of other erroneous trash they believe. They need race to be valid to justify all kinds of dumb shit. This is why knowing it to be fake doesn't mean we should ignore it. So there, my gift to you! Now you know. You know why...abstract ideas exist.

And yet the BLM protests preceded a massive influx of young people learning about class-based oppression. Younger generations are so much more fluent in concepts of class politics now than before. Class reductionism is as counterproductive as identity politics, this is clear now.

@DinoDudeDillon lmao, bit of an overreaction maybe? The word of the day is i n t e r s e c t i o n a l i t y, there is no reason oppression cannot be fought on all fronts. In fact, combining forces in this way only increases the power of class struggle. We have racial justice activists being introduced to class politics, and striking workers learning about how marginalised people suffer due to the same forces. There are plenty of people with otherwise admirable politics, who understand oppression and class, that live in complete denial of the concept of colonialism or ongoing genocides against indigenous groups. No movement that blinded can ever achieve justice, which is why focusing purely on class is misguided.
