  1. Taking the position of the underdog always being the hero leads to some morbid mental gymnastics. I think that explains why this phenomenon belongs on the political left, even if actual cases of total disregard for reality is rare.

  2. Best case for defence is he said for him to leave in the worst possible manner, and then shoved an/or grabbed the backpack. It could even be that he is in (unsubstantiated) claims any number of bad things, even an altogether bad guy. That is still no case for self-defence. There is no castle doctrine, as it isn't a place he should retreat to, there is just nothing. Maybe this video is lacking details, but the court-case surely will spend the time to go into every little detail. My prediction is even going to the minutia of every and all details, including backstory is not going to help matters for people providing garbage takes.
