  3. Your making the mistake of thinking of the BBC as a British service. Last time I looked the world service was sponsored/payed for by British petroleum and the United Arab emirates. The license fee they escaped by coming to a deal with all the other channels to share that fee money around in return for advertising revenue. BBC has no standards anymore. But they will keep going because they've secured the funding through deals and they are the voice of big oil.
