  1. in cardiff, wales they couldnt get permission to alter listed buildings for a land grab. so they figured the preservation laws only applied to the faces, they took down the entire buildings (mostly victorian era) and kept the first 12" top to bottom. so now you have 200year old fascias on modern build quality that will crumble in 10years time.
