  1.  @paradisepipeco  The US was a sane country before Neoliberals like Nixon and Reagan took over. people with no internal reasoning ability, who were happy to lie about their fellow americans to get them trussed up by the McCarthy commission. who literally invented the con known as trickle down economics, which was never anything like the suppply side economics they said it was based on. they literally used Pravda as an example of how to create a disinformation machine, and called it Fox News. Roger Ailes admitted this time and time again before he finally died, but your average american just dismissed it as unimportant. now you have 40 million authoritarian americans that are for all intents and purposes, part of a cult of disinformation, while the people that created this machine literally destroy the fucking planet because they are all neoliberal narcissists without an ounce of understanding or empathy. people do not realize the scale of the disaster this has become. we should have eaten them decades ago.

That would be the GoP, under George W Bush, who created the dept. of homeland security. it is 5 times larger than all other entitlement programs combined. it dwarfs the dept of health, the dept of education, etc etc etc. NEITHER party has talked about reducing its funding since.
