I don't think that Anduin showing emotions like that is bad, I actually quite enjoyed it until Thrall kind of went "friendship my dude" and everything was all fine again. They need to leverage that emotion into something grander. These emotions escalate and then just die down. It doesn't need to be a massive fight between Anduin and Thrall, but at least something more than just killing the moment and moving on to something else, a random voice speaking to them in this case.
