People would quit the game even if it was good. It would just happen less and you'd have people joining mid-expansion to cover for the people quitting. That's how games tend to grow over time as well. However, making the game good makes people play for a longer time and increases the chances of returning.

@PocketZombi People lack insight, that's really all it is. Same as with people complaining about the younger generation and saying it's basically the end of society each time. We've done that for millennia and will keep doing it until humans are extinct. While WoW is just a game, it's really pretty much the same. People complained about BfA, but the moment Shadowlands was released and had some dogshit systems, BfA was suddenly one of the better expansions. The game has issues, will keep having issues and people simply just have to accept that no matter what, we'll just complain about the new flavor of the month.
