  1. The funny thing wbout criticizing the look of that San Francisco neighborhood is it looked pretty much tge same level of rough in 1995. Whatever problems exist there have nothing to do with recent politics nor the tech boom nor twitter.

  2. Yeah Sams just wrong. But the antidevelopment streak in San Francisco politcs grew up out of the destructive era of "urban renewal" in the 50s and 60s where it large represented bulldozing neighborhoods of color to pave them. Of course the antidevelopment pattern joined forces with a variety of other forces including housing speculation, and racists who liked people of color being priced out of the city. Its long past time for smart development to be hapening in San Francisci and indeed neighboring cities. You cant freeze a city in amber and expect things to work well.
