  1. The main reason to potentially push for a humanitarian pause as opposed to a cease fire is that you might think Israel will simply ignore you if you demand a cease fire. But I think they'll ignore demands for restraint of any stripe. So I think it's completely reasonable. Demanding a timeframe might work bettter. For example a 2 week cease fire (or whatever negotiators advise is sufficient to maybe get talks started) might be more possible to be accepted by Israel's political leaders. Essentially the closer overlap you can get with protests within Israel I think the more it will work. But i'm no expert. I'm for whatever will stop the killing the most.

  2.  @magspies  I think it will take a lot of things to get them to change course. As a US citizen I am certainly writing my congress critters to tell them to show some backbone and push back against this string of atrocities.
