Everyone blames those who built the wall. No one is blaming both pilots landing in the wrong direction, not deploying the tires for the brakes to work, and switching off the good engine for reverse thrust. Who is foolish here?

No it is not. It is a domestic Korean airline which means, the pilot was not supposed to land facing that direction.

@superfreiheit1 All pilots are trained repeatedly for this sort of emergency. These pilots have no excuse to fail in such situation.

@DaniloBarcenas-n1q It is an older 737 aircraft, designed to take off and land on short runways according to what experienced 737 pilots have said about it. This pilot landed halfway on the runway. That didn't give him enough room for the plane to stop in time. Pilot error caused this terrible sad plane crash.

@superfreiheit1 For goodness sake, STOP BLAMING THE WALL!! All airports have a perimeter fencing of an erected high concrete wall, metal, or block walls. That airport is not an exception. Looking at the aerial view of the airport, the wall was built to protect the residential area behind it which means, the pilot came in to land in the wrong direction. He was in such a rush to land he forgot to lower the landing gears automatically or, manually. They also landed halfway on the runway. These pilots panicked and forgot all their training when it mattered most.

@superfreiheit1 A higher probability of the crash occurring, 80% - 90% of passengers lost on landing including those at the residences after the airport perimeter. However, if the pilots had done a 360° go-around facing the right direction belly landing at the beginning of the runway, over 90% of the passengers would have survived, maybe all.

@superfreiheit1 There are several in the US and other parts of the world. Some of the most dangerous airports around the world, like the former HK airport before its closure, had high rise buildings much higher than this wall surrounding the airport and pilots flew their planes in there and landed safely.
