Shame on those airlines that took the decision not to honour error air tickets they printed and sold to passengers. If they had accepted their error and honoured it, those tickets would have helped to win new passengers to their airline.

How did Iran get all its commercial aircraft parts for their western designed planes inspite of the sanctions imposed on Iran for decades? And yet you say, you know how the avaition industry works? ๐ ๐ ๐

The A380, is such a well built safe aircraft, perhaps another reason they are expensive to buy. The blown tyre may have been due for replacement, until this incident happened unfortunately. Keep us up to date about this, Simple Flying...
22
โย @gelinrefiraย Even if their own chinese engines are not ready yet, the russians have theirs, the RD 14 already in operation. The chinese could decide to buy russian commercial engines as a good replacement. ๐
16
2:15 .." minus any export market"...I doubt if that will remain so for very long. If everything goes as planned, i am sure many customers will be lining up to retro-fit these engines into their aircrafts. China, will likely be Irkut's first customer, followed by friendly nations such as Belarus, Iran, Veneula, Cuba, Serbia..e.t.c. Never say never..
16
Oh dear, that was taken it to the extreme. I guess he thought his case won't be that harsh, unfortunately he thought wrong. ๐ฎ

There is a saying, "where there is a will, there will always be a way". Why is anyone shocked by this, i don't know..
15
It will be nice if Simple flying make another video about this alliance, and pls let it be more comprehensive. What exactly do passengers benefit from by flying on any of the airlines in this group? What do the airlines that are members enjoy, or benefit from as members of this group?...
12
The same way Embraer approached Boeing for a partnership and Boeing also said No it seems Boeing wants to be the sole monopoly of commercial aircraft manufacturing but it always backfires.
12
Premium economy? sounds more like simple business class seats to me, or perhaps it should be called 'business economy class'. lol.
11
I thought it strange that Sri Lanka would do such a silly thing to the national airline of Russia, afterall it was the Russian govt that came in to help Sri Lanka with very precious oil and gas due to the dire state of her economy. Why stab her in the back by detaining an aircraft that belongs to the national airline of Russia?...
11
How come the British govt did not acquire a much smaller jet like a Bombardiar business jet that have the ability to fly very long range and are far less expensive to maintain? That i am sure will not cause a fracas with the British people.
11
Wise move by Norwegian, very wise move indeed.
10
Its obvious that special interests are at play here which are not those of airlines. American Boeing plane manufacturer deliberately makes use of American GE engines, while Airbus of the EU countries makes use of Rolls Royce engines. Even if airlines prefer to choose what is best for their aircrafts, their choice will be disregarded unfortunately if it is outside that of the plane manufacturer...
10
This is the same type of B737-800 that crashed in China some weeks ago. That plane also went through a deep dive in flight which unfortunately it did not recover from. I will not be surprised if investigators on the Chinese crash at the moment end up discovering that this is also the 'culprit' behind the crash in China.
8
It is a very beautiful aircraft and i will not mind buying it if i can afford it. Hahahaha....
8
Those are VIP, very important french fries/potatoes. I wonder if they were given first class treatment while the potatoes were onboard the aircrafts....lol.
8
If that is true what then is the purpose of the Max jets having winglets is it to decieve buyers or what
8
Yes, capitalism at its finest. ๐๐๐
7
Recently Emirates bought A380 jumbo jets, one of which cost $35million. What part of that sum, Simple Flying covered all 4 engines and the rest of the plane itself? ๐ค ๐คจ
7
Hahaha...especially if it is fitted with basic economy seats and not premium economy seats ๐๐๐๐ ๐.
7
The question is, why is the US still in Iraq after all these years? Have they not done enough damage over there already?
6
You should have considered manufacturing cost in Canada compared to manufacturing cost in the US not minding the cost of executive business jets that is neither here nor there.Your understanding of basic economics is very shallow ,
6
Not excited about its launch and delivery to the first customer. I am more concerned about the leg room pitch to be set for each passenger onboard. Will it be wide enough or crammed up? By the way, shouldn't an XLR aircraft have double isles just like the bigger, wider planes (B777 or A350) even if it is the A321XLR? A 2-2-2 seating arrangement on board may help make passengers more comfortable and accepting of this plane bought by any airline...
6
They do not have to monitor the instruments all that much anymore The plane practically flies itself these days.
6
He is the perfect man for the job. Congratulations to Qatar Airways for having him. ๐
6
โย @Andy5_8ย For 8hrs man common, that's not enough for about 100 passengers. ๐
6
Absolutely ๐ฏ %.
5
I believe your story more than the excuse or lies giving by AA airlines.
5
I don't know why you should be asking us to tell you why the A330neo is being overlooked by airlines. Shouldn't that be your job? Make it your responsibility to interview officials of this airlines and get to the bottom of the A330-800neo rejections.
4
Why use lasers when they can instal military graded flares. Instaling anti-missile flares which the military have tested successfully in combat situations and have been using for years on their aircraft should be cheaper than expensive, new and untested lasers....i think.
4
ย @FloorItDuhย yeah right..hahaha lol. ๐ ๐คฃ ๐
4
A wonderful idea if the airline can keep their ticket prices a little short of ยฃ1,000/$1,000 on their long haul flights, they will be successful. The idea of flying long haul direct and no stop overs helps a lot, but i wonder why they decided not to include business class. Most passengers flying in business class like to have the feeling of 'i am special' and will not mind shelling out good money for premium business class services as long as there are no stop overs...
4
No one will remember he even existed.
4
I consider Boeing's action as a corruptible one. You don't give an airline a $400million soft loan out of the kindness of your heart without expecting something in return. Their intention was for Alaskan airlines to eventually cancel Airbus orders and buy more Boeing aircrafts orders which Boeing desperately needs, and they succeeded.
4
Wow, that to me seems like a real life 'Fringe' event. I wonder what they encountered on board. Thankfully everyone got to their destination safely...
4
?How is that possible since Airbus is European and Boeing is American.
4
It was in Febuary last month on the 27th? But i don't think that was at the time of the sanctions was it? Shameful for the Canadian govt to impose sanctions on an aircraft used for humanitarian services knowing fully well the plane had no choice but to complete its mission. Perhaps the Canadian govt preferred the owners of the aircraft abandon its vital cargo at the country of origin.
4
What a small silly decision by Virgin Atlantic at a time the aviation industry is very short of airline pilots. Management should have overlooked this slight incident as a one time occurence thing. Make the captain aware of this and ensure only he should be in complete control of the plane and NEVER hand it over to the FO at any time during the flight...
3
But that should be a decision taken by Alaskan airlines without a loan manipulation push by Boeing.
3
After their short sightedness scrapping those two 737s, why will you think they have what it takes to put the new 737 Max 7 into good use? I doubt it. ๐

Premium economy seats and simple economy seats on A220s are acceptable for narrow body planes. However i am sure that first class seats on A220s will feel very, very strange indeed tp passengers during long range inter-continental flights.

ย @RainbowManificationย Always blame china for everything, never blame america for their own self inflicted problems. God have mercy..๐ ๐

I have, i have, i have subscribed....lol. Congratulations to the Russians for making the bold move towards this venture. Russian commercial aircrafts have always existed in the past but unfortunately the collapse of the USSR, brought about the demise of the industry. There is a need for the revamping of this industry not only to satisfy the Russian market and create new jobs but also the international market for alternatives. How else can you aviod US and western hegemony with their nasty economic sanctions if you keep depending on western aircraft technology. Besides, the differences are so little, minimum at best they can be easily over looked.
3
โย @MrSchwabentierย I disagree. Those two planes would have been perfect today for long haul flights by narrow body planes, which many airlines are doing now. The A220 serves such routes today, so why not these specially built B737-700 ER made for ANA?
3
Good ideas thrown out into the garbage bin. That's bad airline management policy to me.
3
It is called greed.
3
Ukraine International airlines has gone for good. Gone, gone, gone, gone, gone for good. That is how to report the matter truthfully. Stop being optimistic that it will return after the war, because Ukraine will be more concerned about the bad economy and how to rebuild, rather than invest heavily starting Ukraine International airlines again. It is common sense. ๐๐ ๐๐
