The question is, did Elon Musk really pay what the true market value of those homes are? I think he took advantage of the situation and just paid the home owners what he knew was his last offer and they had no choice but to take it. Besides, who wants to live so close to frequent rocket launches where accidents are likely to happen.

That is an ugly space craft to take to mars, don't they have space ship/space craft designers? I don't know how Elon Musk wants to get to mars in 6yrs when he has no plans to go to the moon first in 6yrs. First priority Elon Musk, get to the moon in 6yrs then onto mars in 10-12yrs. This makes more sense & it is more logical.

@pyrokn03 Blue origin's goal is also to take people into orbit and experience space flight for the first time. It will be nice to see blue origin partner with Bigelow space corporation in space tourism. Bigelow's expandable space living capsules/cabins can be launched by blue origin into orbit just for that purpose. They both have a greater chance of achieving this if they partner with each other. A first private space station in orbit. Cool!

@Rosscifer Yeah but when a big company like space X comes knocking at your door in your neighbourhood and setting up 'shop' to launch expensive likely dangerous rockets, and knowing fully well that anything can happen, i don't think you are in a good position to negotiate and talk about appraisals. You will have to take what space X considers as reasonable and leave.

@biplabkumarghosh6300 Probably true. Well, one former lady resident in the video said she wanted more from space X than what they offered her but she didn't get it. She had to settle for the last or only offer they gave her.

@sarenareth689 'a few hundred thousand times', it seems like you have been to the future and back & strongly favour space X space technology center above all else. Mind you Elon is just a space transporter & not a home builder. So far he does not know where people will live when they get to mars. Its a one way trip, count me out but you can volunteer to go if you like. lol.
