Also, people were impatient because they are arrogant, have unrealistic expectations, and don't care if they destroy reputations - those on the investigation team and also innocent people connected to the case.

Good interview. I've seen so many where nothing of value was actually said. I like this guy.

Jason Voorhees You said police can release any info they want - yeah, if they were unprofessional and didn't care about getting a conviction. That would have been incredibly unwise.

@johnanderson8123 It's amazing to see people who think they know more than the investigation team made up of over 100 personnel.
16
@giovanna722 No doubt that was part of it for some. But the other 80% of armchair detectives probably didn't care about that. They just jumped on the bandwagon.

I think it's the first time I've heard that. Good on him.

@USMC-cv5sd I didn't see it as a backtrack. Of course I could be wrong, but I thought they knew right away that it was targeted, and later supported the idea of the public still being cautious...which is a no brainer anyway.

@kageyama1083 100%

@gengremspring4553 Right? I watch a lot of true crime and about 80% of the time, law enforcement is trash talked. The average person thinks they could do a better job and have said as much, when in reality, they don't have the first clue. Everything has to be done precisely in order to use the evidence in court, to not tip off the suspect, and to not leak info to the public. And what do people do? "Law enforcement is botching the case We NEED to know details!" 🙄

The same stuff.

@nicolekear3911 Right? It's obvious to some of us, but evidently more fun for some to stir the pot and cause unnecessary drama, which in turn hurts people. There were so many assumptions being spread. And now who is willing to admit their assumptions were wrong and they took part in ruining innocent people's lives?!?! The Jacks, hoodie guy, the roommates, Jeremy the neighbor, law enforcement, etc.
2
@johnkaylor8670 And no unnecessary drama.
2
It's "couldn't care less", not "could care less". 🤷🏼♀️
2
@jojobee42 Exactly. I got so frustrated seeing so many assumptions about this case. People saying this was suspicious and that didn't make sense, etc. Well, no kidding. Until we know the rest of the information, it's unwise to speculate. But people are still doing that. 🙄
2
@USMC-cv5sd Surely the locals were scared, which is totally understandable. I was referring more to the armchair detectives on line. However, even some of the victim's family members jumped to conclusions. Of course they wanted it solved, as their world was turned upside down. But it still encouraged even more nonsense from those not involved or affected.

@D0UBLEPLUSG00D New to true crime? Ha ha. I've been following true crime for nearly 40 years since I was a teenager. I realize clumsy police work happens sometimes. I'm not sure where the idea came from that I don't think that happens. 🤔 However, the vast majority of the time, murder cases are taken very seriously and there is a lot that goes into an investigation, especially one of this magnitude. It's just become popular to assume that law enforcement isn't doing their job and there must be some kind of cover up in every case. 🙄 I'm guessing the 80/20 rule applies. I'll bet that 80% of the time, investigators work really hard at these cases and take them to heart, and 20% of the time, they're either not thoroughly investigated or sloppily done. People are people in every job. Some do their job well and some don't.

@gengremspring4553 I wish psychology was taught throughout school, starting at a very young age. It could help some of us avoid unsavory characters, as well as help with our own mental health. It's such a lost opportunity.

NO money should come from the government.

We have no idea.
1
@JD Where did you get the idea that a roommate saw what happened and didn't call for 8 hours? I haven't heard anything like that.
1
@el_hawke Yeah, I just read it. I was gone all day and hadn't heard the updates. Yikes!!
1
@JD How scary. I hadn't heard the update until a few minutes ago. Thanks.
1
@beaudile7730 Yeah, several people responded to my question. Thanks. There was quite a bit of info on that affidavit. 😳

While it appears to have been a very serious mistake that should have very serious consequences, you don't see the difference between that and what Hillary did??

The blatantly biased media doesn't help matters any.
