@heatherl7028 While people love to claim that looks helped, it's just not a rational belief. If you've ever seen the many times that average or even sketchy looking dudes got off on probation, you'd realize how silly that assumption is.

If the races were reversed, that's all we'd be hearing about. These young men have nothing positive to offer society. My heart breaks for the 2 men who were hit, especially the one who was robbed of his life. 💔

She even said, "I don't think you're a bad person." Hmmm. If someone who pulls out a gun, chases someone to their car, shoots, and kills them isn't a bad person, what does she think a bad person is?!!!

It's actually a good thing that she stupidly left the drugs out in the open like that. I wouldn't have known what it was. I probably would have thought that it must be something other than drugs. Good for him for calling his dad and turning it over to police. Extremely impressive!!💙

@jogmas12 That's not the point. No matter what the motive, if there is a crime against a minority, it's automatically deemed a "hate crime". I personally think "hate crime" sounds very juvenile and I don't support it (crime is crime), but I'm just pointing out the double standard.

@quitaulla1569 You must have missed the part where modern technology was needed to identify the remains.
10
@quitaulla1569 Did you see where it was located? You may not realize how challenging it can be to find a body that could be anywhere.

@quitaulla1569 They don't track if a body is transported miles away using a vehicle, though.

@ThaiLifeAmerican Especially young people, like those who called 911. Like they would have given up the chance to go viral.
5
@cc1658 Well, one is 18 and the other is 16. I guess I would consider them young men.

@Sidewinder528 I'm not complaining about racism. I was pointing out a double standard. If the races were reversed, racism would be ASSUMED to have been the motive.

There's a high probability, but there's no way of knowing until more evidence is released.

We have no idea.

Sidenote: I can't blame Jamie for being angry that the lady took her son without permission. We don't know the whole story, but not knowing where your child is would be alarming.
2
We have no idea if they're a hard working, honest family.

Poor Reba. 😢 That's heartbreaking!!

@FlowKio Right??

While this is absolutely horrific, I'm baffled by most of these comments. Everyone is saying that parole boards are useless and should be held accountable. The reporter explained how less than 1% of those released end up reoffending. There are no guarantees in life, but sometimes it's appropriate to give second chances.

@jogmas12 .

@jogmas12 Chauvin was publicly convicted of the biggest hate time in modern history even though he didn't say anything about being motivated by a hatred for black people.

That poor man. He was literally helping. It does seem likely that they thought he was the "bad guy". Otherwise, why would they attack him?

@KeystoneNupe 🙄 Yeah, because clearly dark skinned people don't get away with anything. 🙄
1
Not really.
1
Yeah, riiight. No one gets 15 years for that.

@truthserum4life101 That's not true. It all depends on the circumstances, not the skin color. There are different factors that come into play - criminal history, if the drugs were for personal use or if they were being sold, the strictness of the judge, etc.

It's about time the other parent is finally being held accountable for allowing abuse to go on. I've been suggesting this for years. It's all too common for women in these situations to be considered victims. The children are the only victims who truly have no choice. Those poor kids. Hopefully, they will receive good support and therapy in order to deal with the trauma they have endured.
