I find it interesting to read so many who are recommending adoption as if that is some kind of guarantee to avoid health problems. Anything can happen to anyone at any time. This guy is wise to think seriously about whether to have children or not. It's a huge undertaking even without serious health problems.

Imagine how scary it would be to have the second child. That's not a risk I would be willing to take.

@Raja-fv1cr However, health problems of all types, although maybe not as severe as these, are fairly common, as are injuries. It's rarely a walk in the park. Out of my three kids which I raised extremely healthy, one has type 1 diabetes, one is developing type 1 diabetes, and one has anxiety, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. I won't even get into my own health problems which make it very challenging to keep up with them.

@devisissy1 Great advice. So often, the idea of having children can be like a fantasy where emotions can get all worked up. This is a reality check.

@Poodlebear19234 Yes, but the children pay the biggest price of something goes wrong. Some things don't show up until later either. My daughter didn't show signs of illness until she was 18. She's 20 now and bed bound.
